May 2017 Newsletter (There’s FREE Stuff!)

Finally! Warm weather hits the UK!

It seems the summer window becomes narrower every year but I have high expectations now we have some good temperatures, including getting out for some walks and bike rides.

I managed to pull in my yearly hike on The South Downs Way a few weeks ago. Despite nearly being blown off the hills, waking up covered in slugs one morning and failing in my mission to find a full Engish breakfast, I did manage to walk the 100 miles in 3 days.

That’s me passing Chanctonbury Ring on The South Downs Way

What are your hiking plans this year? Anyone doing some biggies?

Some general ‘What’s Up?’ news for you. First, I’m reading a lovely book at the moment, it’s called 100 Days Of Solitude by Daphne Kapsali. Some of you recently signed up for a Kingsumo Giveaway where this book was bundled into the package. For those that didn’t see the promotion, I’ve arranged with Daphne a FREE teaser sample of this great book for nothing, you just need to sign up to her mailing list.

100 Days Of Solitude is Daphne’s memoir about life on a Greek island, all 100 days of it. It’s a delightful mix of thoughts, reflections, humour and observations on everything from picking your own veg to the relative benefits of purchasing a dehumidifier. I’ve read and I wouldn’t recommend it if it wasn’t worth reading.

If you’d like to grab a teaser click on the book below. By the way, Daphne isn’t a serial emailer either – she won’t spam you, pester you or share your stuff anywhere.

Second. Last year I was asked by The Go Outdoors team (one of the biggest outdoor retailers in the UK), if I’d like to share any camping recipes I have for their upcoming Cookbook. I duly obliged and this year they have done another book. It’s free to check out and believe me, there’s some wonderful grub in there catering for everyone from carnivores to vegans. Take a look. There’s two volumes now, both accessible by clicking the image below.

Third. A great site I regularly use called Authors Cross Promotion is hosting a huge giveaway. Around 180 authors have clubbed together for this event whereby you can choose a category you like and enter a competition for the chance to win one (or several) books by these great authors, and there’s a lot to choose from! Many authors will send you a free copy of their books just by signing up to them. There’s also loads prizes including the chance to win every single book!

You will need to enter your details and this will be shared with the author. If you interested, click on the image below.

That’s all I got for you! Enjoy whatever you download and enjoy the sunshine!
